Take a dedicated delay pedal vs delay function in a multi fx. Not sure if this has been said, but using individual effects gives you much more power for the specific effect. Tl dr Why do people favor single pedals over multi-effects processors? So my question is: what's the problem with a multi-pedal? Nonetheless, whenever I see live shows and get a peak at the pedal boards, people always prefer chaining single pedals together. And I have an uncountable combination of effect setups, not to mention amp/guitar modeling. I got what I consider to be a decent multi-effects processor for about $250 - about the price of 1.5 to 2 pedals. I'm skeptical, but Billy Corgan says so, and he knows more than me. I've heard that using single pedals cause signal degradation as the sound is "processed," so more single pedals cause an increasingly crappy signal. The reason I don't understand is two-fold: I don't understand why more love isn't given to multi-effects processors. I've been lurking and from time to time I see posts along the lines of, "I have $xxx to spend, should I buy or ?" I have a feeling that the answer is "simple," but I promise this is a serious question.
